Hi, I'm Ram.
Engineer turned product designer. I think in systems, and I keep coming back to one question: how do we make powerful tools feel effortless?
The story
I started as a data engineer at Wipro, working with Philips on a mainframe-to-cloud migration of 200M+ records and building Power BI dashboards. In 2020 I moved into design and freelanced for 18+ startups and companies, often taking products from requirements to handoff with little structure.
That's 6+ years in product design now, plus 2+ in data engineering, across fintech, SaaS, healthcare, and enterprise security. The data years stuck: I still look for patterns in complex information and tie them to product decisions, whether I'm designing AI workflows, design systems, or 0-1 products.
How I work
Decide before I design
Problem, people, and tradeoffs first. Screens come after the decisions that make them necessary.
Systems over screens
Engineering taught me to think in structures, states, and reuse. Good systems help teams ship faster and stay consistent.
AI as an assistant, not an automator
People stay in control. AI suggests, explains, and speeds things up; the human confirms.
The best tools get out of the way
Meet people in the workflow they already use. Inform, don't obstruct. Success is what they no longer have to think about.

Apr 2026 – PresentRedesigned the Changesets workflow so policies, rulesets, rules, and devices make sense together. Made the case for supporting Palo Alto and Juniper, not just Cisco, and redesigned AI troubleshooting so support teams can see its work.

Ho Chi Minh City's New Year lights, Hoi An's yellow lanes, the misty peaks of Ba Na Hills. It's the trip I still talk about most.
Ornate pagodas and quiet shrines right next to the buzz of motorbikes. Calm and chaos side by side, and somehow it all flows.
The street food stole the show: crispy bánh xèo on the pavement, a legendary bánh mì at Phượng in Hoi An, and strong Vietnamese coffee.
Wandering Hoi An under bougainvillea, walking the Golden Bridge held up by giant stone hands, and seeing Saigon lit up at night.
